The player takes control of the Master Chief while fighting against the Covenant and the Flood as a cybernetically enhanced supersoldier. The Covenant and the Flood are two alien races that coexist in the twenty-sixth century with humanity (as seen in Halo 3). There will be no more games in this series after this one, which means the story arc will close with Halo 3. Bungie was the brainchild behind the idea.
